Define lower prices? The reason I ask, is because we went to a lot of small town ones on this trip and then when back in Stuttgart before we flew home, while the prices were higher, they weren't that much higher!

Most prices on food or drink were one to three Euro cheaper than in Nuremberg. For example we paid 8 Euro for the half metre sausage. Here it was 5 Euro.

We had a quick walk around Leipzig old town today. It is a more attractive place than I thought it would be. It seems possible to me that the years of stagnation under communist rule might have saved some of the older buildings being torn down in the 1950's/60's.

Leipzig is meant to be good too, it's on our list to visit. Looks like you've enjoyed your time there.

Leipzig HBF - by area the biggest termina station in Europe. It also has a huge shopping area. Happily it is also the probably the cleanest main station I have visited in Germany. Even better it is a cigarette free station unlike most others.

First time at LTN (last of the London area ones for me to visit, I don't count Southend.......).

Arriving at Luton Airport Parkway station (which is NOT at the airport). Why pay £5 for the DART when it's a 25 minute walk (when you have plenty of time to kill, of course).

Some classy joints to walk past if you take the foot route (I was the only one of 100's of people!).

Yet only this morning a boat was being towed from the ship repair yard down river. They always have a tow boat each end, so one is dragged backwards.
