A wander through the cemetary too, one of the Magnificent Seven Cemeteries.

Thanks for that link! I've got a guy in Tower Hamlets which I've checked out, but wouldn't mind wandering some of the others.

As a family historian, I've wandered cemeteries and cremation walls from Coolgardie to Dover (Tas) to Aberdeen to Los Angeles. Very exciting when you find a sought-after grave of a rellie, and its in good condition and there are a whole bunch of the family listed.

Best cemeteries are in Russia. Very elaborate headstones, often with other stuff - like a small carved tank for a WW2 general!!

The Daulton one (in terracotta) was quite interesting.

The surprise headstone I discovered in Brighton UK was a ggfather. An elaborate monument with the inscription "This memorial is erected in loving memory of xx_xx xx_xx By numerous friends and admirers in recognition of the services he was always ready to render his less fortunate fellow creatures."
