Pushka, I'll see your Hayman Island and raise you a Gold Coast and Byron Bay:

And I'll surrender with a Kempsey.

re: The view from my "office"

This morning the Canberra Rally cars were leaving from the back of our building. They were on a timed start and would come up from the car park a little before their start time. Probably a good idea as it was minus 2 at 8 am when this was taken (up from minus 4 at 6am). It's a balmy 3 now.

re: The view from my "office"

Today's office is in Cappadocia. It got pretty crowded - this is about a third of the balloons up in the air today.

As ballooners would know, the pilot goes up and down both to get direction-changing winds and to add a bit of a thrill. We had a couple of VERY close shaves with rocks and cliffs which was thrilling, but it was this close encounter with power lines that got me concerned:

Later on, concern turned to very scared when we actually snagged a power line with the basket; there were sparks as it broke and fell to the ground, as we sailed on.

My goodness!
I guess you won't be signing up for another ballooning adventure.

Our version of that a couple of years ago was my first and last hot air ballon ride. Had never been interested in doing one but was persuaded that Cappadocia was the place to do it.

And it was brilliant, I must admit. Our pilot was immensely skilled and experienced - even landing the balloon on the back of the truck at the end. It was a highlight of a trip of many highlights.

Enjoy your onward touring - and stay safe.

Didn't quite make it to the wildlife sanctuary but I can assure you Sanctuary Cove was just as good if not better

Love the various wildlife around the golf course. One of the birds came down to the cart and was looking for food when I realised I had a packet of crisps in the golf bag.

We just managed to finish playing the last hole in darkness. Need to get better at taking photos.
