The view from my "office"

Frangipanis are pretty damn tough :D But I did kill a rubber tree once !!!
I have a real soft spot for frangipanis. During the war my father (who was stationed in Darwin at the time) sent the flowers to my mother who was living in Sale, Victoria. It was a flower that in those days people down south didn't see at all. Apparently he had practised to find the best type of packaging and although a wet soggy parcel was delivered, the flowers were in perfect condition.

Me too, we have 6 in our garden - all different colours, I just love their perfume !

As do I! They do grow in Adelaide, but having tried a couple of times, I just don't think my garden gets enough sun. Or it gets too much. Or they don't like sand. Or maybe I am just rubbish at gardening :D

I'll apologise in advance for a really, really rubbish photo, but it is a slightly unusual office today .... In a plane (not unusual) with a view out the front of a tribal ceremony (pig compensation claim ... against us I believe) going on just over the airport fence, in full traditional dress (to answer QF WP's question about whether traditional dress is common in the PNG highlands, from another thread). For mrs.dr,ron you can just make out the Cus Cus fur hats and the blackened faces (definitely Engan)!

I tried to get some video and audio, but the pilot spun about and gunned it out of there pretty quickly, as occasionally these ceremonies of demand can turn a little ugly! (not to mention the weather was closing in rapidly and we only just made it out as it was)
