Can't help but feel that you have made an oblique reference to a similar sign in that lesser known Australian city that also needs a big sign so that people know where they are (posted in recent days - my bolding).

At least 2kms away, and the wind is blowing it the other way, happily for us but not for those to our east. That's not interesting; that's scary. Hope all under control.
Good for you, not for those in the path of the fire though. Is this the one near Holsworthy? If so, people have been told it's too late to leave. At least 2kms away, and the wind is blowing it the other way, happily for us but not for those to our east.

Under control this morning thankfully, with no reports of serious injuries or property damage. My photo was a "small" fire local to us in the Shire, as the Holdsworthy fire moved towards us from behind the camera. But there are multiple fire breaks between there and us, unlike when we first moved here (ie suburbs that didn't exist back then). In the 60s to 80s the biggest threat was fires that started in the firing range and owing to inherent dangers (eg unexploded ordinance) we just had to wait until they emerged when we usually had a raging inferno. These days the various water bombers can get to those and help reduce the intensity. That's not interesting; that's scary. Hope all under control.
Of course you didn'tHa ha - no; didn't see that one. While away I can't usually keep up with TTOTT.

Hope it doesn’t move your way and is soon under control. The fire has flared again as the wind is gusting. This view is looking from a high point, over our place (hidden in the trees) towards the fire at around 11:45am.

No badgers in your castle Denali?
Its a watch and act situation, but the watching is being done very effectively from the RFS helicopter. They seem to be letting the fire burn along Old Illawarra Rd as a form of hazard reduction, but I would say the danger has definitely passed as the wind has died.Hope it doesn’t move your way and is soon under control.
