The view from my "office"

Where's the spectators? Did someone forget to unlock the gates?

Mainly behind me in the bar! ;)

The game itself was free, gates were open to all but fairly light on apart from the concentrated people in the members areas around the ground attending the various functions that were lined up.

Has the tasting room changed? Looks the same as when I was there 6 months ago. Any BP left?

The Stonewaller room is still the same, but this was described to us as the new hors d'oeuvres room and it immediately adjoins the lunch room. My mother would have called it the 'horses doovers' room but its better described as the place where you have pre-lunch drinks (Riesling and then Black Shiraz in our case) and canapés (house cured duck prosciutto , Romesco and quince).

ps you read it here first - they are adding Saturday onto the lunch roster; only one a month to start with, to see how it goes.

Lazienki Krowlewskie, Warsaw and the free Chopin recital.

Chopin cuts a romantic figure.

The piano came of the back off a truck, and needed a little tuning.

The crowd spread out in the shade on what is a warm 30+ day.

Well worth taking in if you are in Warsaw in the warmer months. The crowd today was mostly locals, many of whom staked out their preferred spot and came armed with cushions etc. People of all ages from toddlers to octogenarians.

Cossie I realise others have likely asked this, but are you an "official" rally photographer? Your pics are always excellent. If I got one like those in my lifetime I'd be happy and yet you roll them out continuously!

Thanks for the compliment, but I am far from being a rally photographer! I'm using a friend's Canon as my Pentax just can't autofocus fast enough and I think it's time for a change, so far on this trip I've been much happier than i have been with Pentax. I like taking photos, but honestly there are some good photographers out there. Check out the site of my friend from the UK.

Graham Lloyd He does it purely for fun, but some of his stuff is as good as you'll get.

A Tasmanian product that I'm very proud to be associated with, even if just in a minor way. Sardinia on Saturday, first time I've actually seen it in use in competition.

It is very much a stand alone system, but there has to be a paper trail as well for the FIA. There is also a plane circling overhead, which SAS/RallySafe don't need, but again the FIA insists on it, although that is also used for radio communication and some TV stuff.

Into Milan from Alghero on Alitalia, my knees touched the seat in front, no snacks and as Rooflyer experienced a few weeks ago, 1 bag came out after 10 minutes, then nothing for another 30 minutes. I think the baggage handlers were playing games.....

On approach into London City, any closer and we could have touched it. I've left from here many times, but this is the first time I have landed here. Good flight from Milan, plenty of leg room, even a meal, Embraer 190 on BA. Only complaint was that the windows needed cleaning.

Hmmmm, white spargel. If you get the chance and haven't done so already, try to get to Gorlitz, just a little to the north of Dresden, it's well worth it. And of course, in the south east near Zittau is the steam railway, if you are interested in that sort of thing.
Not too far away in Colditz, you can stay in the former POW castle and don't forget the Trabbie factory in Zickau! :)

As you are so close to Plauen, please have a couple of Sternquelle beers for me, if of course, you drink beer.
