The view from my "office"

Here’s one for you peeps.

A moth in my NP Rabbit Food (TM). Now, I happen to know a bit about entomology, but this specimen, once flooded in Birch & Waite balsamic & olive oil vinaigrette, defied identification 😜.

Jeez you statused flyers get all the extra perks. Wasn't the species name listed on the menu? - possibly a reason for complaint. ;)

Aaaahh - but here’s the truly hilarious thing:

I am, by profession, an agricultural entomologist (despite @juddles trying to label me a botanist 😡). As I said to the CSM, I am the best possible person on the flight for this to happen to 😎😂. Anyone else would probably cough themselves.

Totally ironic 🤪.

She said that it was unfortunate that it was at the bottom of the bowl and that I only discovered it after I had finished the NP Rabbit Food (TM).

”Oh, no.”, says me. ”I discovered it half way through my gorging on this delicacy. I kept eating.“

CSM’s eyes open wider 😀🤣.

A little compensation has come my way...

Dang - iThing goes berserk yet again...😡.

An amuse bouche from the chef?

Not just ANY chef, but the most famous ’fresh food’ ponytail in all of Australia 🙄.

Aaaahh - but don’t forget peeps, this is ‘sustainably’-produced NP Rabbit Food (TM) 😉🤥🤢😂🤔🤪.

I did tell the CSM that this was already on social media. 😎🤣 (But made it clear that I was not having a shot at the lovely crew.)

This has made my Saturday 😁😀.

I’ve just shown this traffic to the CSM. She p!ssed herself!

What a great day! 😎🤣😘

Fabulous end to my excellent Sub-Antarctic islands trip.

BTW, @drron, we had two landings on Macquarie Island (‘Macca’ to us insiders 😎). The first day was the most perfect weather of the whole trip (although it was all pretty good), to the point that I was down to a short-sleeve shirt.

Just awesome 😎😀.

The CSM just added this to my freebies.

These are very important data points. I'm guessing value of the wine c$10 each?

So a moth in the meal is worth $20 (or whatever it turns out to be). From this we can extrapolate for flies, earwigs, crickets etc.

I wonder what compensation you'd get if you found a cherry tomato or olive in your NP weeds?

Well, I think I may have a little fun with QF.

I would have ignored the moth-in-NP rabbit Food (TM) matter - but within <1h of landing I had a 'How was Qantas?' email feedback request specifically for my SYD-PER flight today. Not one, but the first one repeated 1 minute later.

They clearly REALLY want to get my feedback.

I now feel hugely obligated to respond...;):p.

It doesn't take any imagination to guess that my comment theme will centre around moth-in-salad gives a whole new meaning to the 'NP fresh and seasonal' BS mantra. What is more, it could even be seen as giving new meaning to the 'sustainable' marketing BS sloganeering... :p
