RooFlyer, was your 'office' in the River Derwent offshore from Hobart, Tasmania?

In your different mode from OATEK's, you managed to not have the number of others in the way with which he had to contend. Great photos.

We have just started our first overseas trip since September 2019, with a lunch-time stopover in Bagdad. Bagdad TAS 7030, that is! It did not even involve flying, as we took the Spirit of Tasmania to get there. Currently cars go for free on the ferry, but it still is much more expensive than flying.

A friend set us a challenge for our Tasmanian holiday. Provide photographic evidence of visiting some of the strangely named places on this list:

1. Eggs and Bacon Bay
2. Milkshake Hills
3. Trousers Point
4. Granny’s Gut
5. Satan’s Lair
6. Lovely Bottom
7. Stinkhole

On a drive from Hobart today we got to #1. Some even seem to bamboozle Google Maps and some are not within reach of our East Coast itinerary.

In order to impress our friend we think it acceptable to ask for AFF assistance to source the demanded photographic evidence, so please delve into your archives!

I’m on the east coast of Tas and I am struggling with some of those.

But try

😊

I think they are all there. Only search on the first part and you’ll see lots of variants on the same odd words.

I have spent a lot of time in Tassie and had not seen any of those !! So I googled Lovely Bottom and came up with this =

Nice one, Mrs.Drron. Except their Bust me gut hill is actually Bust me gaul Hill. I go over both , as well as Black Charlies Opening# on my drive to Hobart.

# this name does not involve an indigenous person!

Griselda failed miserably in her negotiations with the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham this week. It should have been a simple task, a case of demonstrating that only one of the two options was the sensible one. The hotel could either cater for players in the All England Battledore championship or send them packing and just open for me. Needless to say Griselda was unable to complete the simple task of demonstrating I was much more important than scores of shuttlecock bashers.

Instead I lodged at the Holiday Inn with it's majestic views of the much understated 1960's concrete and err, err... well concrete. As I looked down from my 7th floor suite I could almost imagine dear old Dickie Bradford striding through the streets as the enigmatic McGill, (not sure we ever found the character's first name out)

Reminds me a bit of Elephant & Castle pre-demolition. Very nice.
