The view from my "office"

Still sitting in full sun with no head covering then the UV is going to be dangerous. My wife's cousin who lived most of her life in England died of skin cancer. Ireland sits at No.3 in the World rate of skin cancers, Norway at No.9 and the UK at 13th.

Edit: The weather certainly seems to be pretty warm.

I remember on my visit to the UK in 1990, taking the train from Gatwick to Victoria, It was a warm spring day and as we passed various parks there were these shining white objects sitting there wearing long pants - Englishman out in the midday sun!!

Nothing has changed.......
No head coverings, except a little hair. It was obvious that they had swarmed out from places of work, only to rip of the shirts/undershirts to soak up the sun, with their trousers, shoes etc still in place..
I think I've seen more blokes without shirts than with shirts in the past few days :P
Otherwise known as the cough end of nowhere!

Did your GPS confirm that the sign is in the correct location? When crossing the Arctic circle in Norway, the little monument seemed to be a few kms out.
The arctic circle moves depending on slight variations in the tilt of the Earth. So it might have been right when the monument was installed. Or a random spot for the tourists to photograph.

Milankovich cycles? Periodicity of abt 40,000 years ( also other periods within). Fascinating stuff.
