The view from my "office"

We are selling a place we have on the river and just received the aerials. Think we might get a poster made of this one. The main channel has Hindmarsh Island on the top left, and the far right on the top looks towards Goolwa and the mighty Murray Mouth.

In the foreground is our tiny Bay, which also has water on the other side, which is where we are, right on the water.

In the great drought, all of this water vanished and all we had was smelly swamps. But as the rains progressed upstream and flowed down, one day we saw just a tiny rivlet that grew and grew until we now have plenty of water.

My wife snapped this photo this morning during her walk with a friend

Yesterday, at the parking area for our office block, the local plover parents have already laid their next batch of eggs. Looks like either 2 or 3 (at least one is a rock, wasn’t going to get any closer). Their recent chick is now as large as them (only 3-4 months old) and they’re ignoring it

From my walk, spring is coming and I’m loving the local flowers blooming

That was a nice little sapling, what was the damage ?
I have been skinned a couple of times by tree loppers but I need to revisit as I have some work to be done before the wet season.

$1100 for it, but they mucked up their quote planning to just winch it, the crew turned up and wouldn’t do it as planned as they considered it to dangerous, so got some climbing gear dropped off, climbed it and took the head off the northern side before winching. They stood by their quote so I’m happy. They did 2 others that were leaning over a shed today as well, for another $660 so $1760 all up for 3.5 h on my property.

I got other quotes and they were more than $1000 less then the others :)

$1100 for it,
 Wow.

My strategy:

Think about the need to take this MUCH smaller one one out before it gets too big. Shack owner up the road has a tree removal business and usually does me a cash-in-hand deal for these small jobs. Think about it for a loooong time ...

Nah. Just wait a bit. The wind will take care of it:

... and I took the rest down with my electric chain saw, dropped it out onto the street :)

$1100 is cheap!
