The view from my "office"

With my limited capacity in doing things today.... I managed to grab a small number of shots in/around Denali NP. Would have liked to have done more but Mother FB said not to push it! One should always do what their mother says........ I've dropped in a few shots from around Talkeetna yesterday too.

So first up, Talkeetna.

A fairly clear day, so a good view out to Mount Denali (or Mt McKinley as it has also been called).

Then today a bit of a drive around Denali NP.

We saw a couple of Moose and Brown Bears too, but it was difficult to get a photo with our equipment.

At least I found a spot for Mrs FB to stay for the night (or three.....!).

Posted from my sleeping office, where I'm going into hibernation mode for the next 14 hours :D

I have found there are three ways to get over COVID:
  1. Rest
  2. Rest
  3. Rest

I managed about 6 in the end and then couldn't get back to sleep - doh!

Going to attempt to do a 3 mile hike today, certainly a lot shorter than what we originally planned but better than nothing ...... dem's da breaks!

If I keel over in a heap, at least Fairbanks (our stop for this evening) isn't too far away and has a medical centre there :D

Zoom in please. Can’t see the snow! :)
I remember when we lived there in the '50s, we took a visitor up and apologised for the lack of snow. His reaction was something like that's a relief, I get more than my share back home (Canada). When we tried to get out of the car the wind was blowing so hard that we all had to exit on the non-drivers side to avoid injury! The fellow concerned was Dan Strickland, brother of the famous Shirley.

So I went on the short hike (only 250 feet of elevation) and while my lungs complained a bit I made my way through it, hopefully over the worst of this COVID rubbish and can start to enjoy the rest of the holiday.

Denali NP.

A worthy stopping point for lunch on the drive up to Fairbanks.

Tasty burgers and we were looked up and down by the Hell's Angels bikers that were in there when we arrived 😁
