Same story out of MEL on 24/08, it was raining. There was a suitcase that fell off the trolley. Although this instance, It took someone 15 mins to pick up the luggage. The person who took it walked over to the aircraft and dropped it on the belt.I watched a baggage cart take this corner and the blue case tumble off the trolley.
Driver didn’t notice.
Neither of the next two vehicles through this intersection stopped to collect. So much for ground crew awareness of FOD.
We pushed back before it was collected so it could still be there…
Could it be that the driver noticed, but couldn't do anything? From memory, the driver is not allowed to stop anywhere in the tarmac (or any area of the paved roads) once started driving ... In MEL's case, I did see that the driver spoke to someone on his walkie-talkie a few minutes after the bag fell off his wagon ... And the fact that someone came by foot and picked it up, I'm led to assume that the driver did notice the bag falling and paged someone else to assist?Driver didn’t notice.
Plausible.Could it be that the driver noticed, but couldn't do anything?
