Spectacular sunny winter weather in Tokyo today. Enjoying views of the oldest Japanese garden in Tokyo: Koishikawa Korakurn Garden. Even some early blossoms showing on a few plum trees.
JAL Narita Sakura lounge this morning waiting for flight NRT-KUL.
Unfortunately there’s no Champagne in this lounge but there’s an Aussie sparkling. I’ll save myself for the lovely French “Ayala” onboard.
And thank god we are flying J. NRT is undergoing huge renovations and the economy line for immigration was the longest queue I’ve ever seen at an airport. There will definitely be people missing their flights this morning. I reckon it would take an hour or more to get through.
Last night view at Six Senses Maxwell. Trying to use up my remaining Virtuoso credit by with some bubbles. This is a really nice hotel. I’ll come back here sometime.
So, I went to the wholesaler this morning who is selling crays made cheap by the China virus crisis. Young lady behind the counter said 'The whole place has gone F%$!'n mad'
There are boats still in the water with live crays in their holds because there is no room to take them on shore. The wholesaler is frantically building some tanks to hold them. She said that their stocks should last for a couple of weeks at current rates, but the whole thing might take off to a new level (ie beyond the F%$!'n mad level, I guess).
View in the shop (the sign refers to table meals). $70/kilo whole. Huge stocks 'out the back'.
My purchase, destined for the freezer ... if it keeps up, I'll go back and dip again next week.
