'Twas a very chilly weekend and a rather bleak day but I managed a late walk watching receding rainbows this evening. In the other direction the sun was setting.

Pleasant right now tip-toeing through the Sturt’s Desert Pea in the Pilbara.

Edit: a single large-flowered version just along the road.

Was up that way many years ago and stumbled across the biggest, fattest brown snake (Mulga?) you could imagine. Looked like it has just swallowed a piglet.

A grey old day, but still a wonderful view of the Onkaparinga River mouth and across to South Port Beach.


The tide was roaring in, but it didn’t stop this father and son trying to catch a wave.


Down this massive staircase, rock fishers braved the cold weather, wind chill and surf spray.

I reckon the only thing you’d catch would be frostbite.


Cold, hot, fisho or not we were all rewarded with a magnificent sunset.

Looking the other way (out to sea) we saw some whales, but on the phone these just look like photos of the ocean.

My wife, daughter and partner have just gone to my sons business premises as it has been flooded out. My son is currently near Broome on a 4WD trip.
