Well, the walls don't have ears, but conversations in lounges certainly do. I've posted about this before, but I'm amazed and some what flabbergasted as to what you hear. (for the record I'm not eaves dropping, but rather have no choice about hearing the conversation)!

So, here I am sitting in the QF club at SYD domestic waiting to fly home, the guys in the seats near me, say 1.5m away are having quite the debate about thier impending failure to implement an ERP system, which in itself is not unique or interesting, but on hearing why is certainly good value;

Apparently Jeff the project manager has worked with thier implementation partner before, when I say "worked" I mean shagged. Then Jamieson from accounts hasn't got the finance team ready because he is "working" with the implementation partner, when I say "working" I mean shagging. And the MD is too busy taking LSL to guess what with his former PA? That's right "work"!!!

Now I haven't been able to ascertain who they work for, but it sounds like the best ERP implementation ever!

What's the weirdest most inappropriate conversation you have had the misfortune to overhear?

We have specific detail in our travel policy regarding discussing anything work related in public places - airline lounges are called out as an example of "public place".

It's truly amazing what kinds of sensitive information routinely gets (loudly) discussed at a QP!

Amazing yes, and of course there is sometimes CD's left in machines.........

A 50 year oldish chinese man b*$&^ing about his 2nd girlfriend with his 1st girlfriend. in chinese.

Of course sometimes you get interesting info such as what I heard in the Imperial lounge of the Cavalieri in 2007-

Turned out to be true.

As for Chinese I had an interesting experience in Singapore in the mid 80s.Mrsdrron was doing the rounds of the jewellers.Saw a bracelet she liked and asked the price in $A.The fellow made a phone call,I preume to wholesaler and came back saying $A750.I was studying Japanese at the time so was able to decipher numbers so said "but on the phone you said $250".Boy the look of shock and horror on all the staff.And she got her bracelet for $A250.

Nice work!

I'm also very cautious about bringing out sensitive co. info whilst on-board the aircraft as its very easy to read over someone shoulder. You never know if you are sitting next to your competition.

One should also be careful in hotel rooms of some countries!
