Now I don't mind that I can and send my hotel folios to QF for points claiming when the property doesn't bother to award me my points despite being given all the right information & not responding to follow-ups (Bad Swissotel Sydney).

Of course, because I've not received an email with this reference number - I can't even confirm that its the request relating to this hotel stay - but that's another issue entirely.

What irritates me is QF's inability to use form emails relevant to the enquiry.

Why would you include information in the email about online claiming for points, when its only relevant to airlines??

I know its a rather minor gripe, specially in the scheme of bigger issues facing airlines. My view is this is one simple customer service thing they could achieve, with little hassle, that makes a communication relevant to the customer.

And surely it wouldn't be that hard to include details of which points claim the email is in regards to. Again, simple customer service and forethought goes a long way.

Why don’t I see American airlines in that list? QF is close with both BA and AA, but you can only request missing miles online for BA? A little odd.

Without checking the list exhaustively, I expect QF cannot verify AA automatically due to a limitation with access to Sabre. The airlines listed for on-line claims probably use Amadeus to another GDS through which Qantas FF can verify automatically.
