Hi all,

This is my 2nd post regarding Qantas Pass, so I apologise if this is a bit much.

I had flights booked for a conference in Providence RI which was originally scheduled to take place in late June 2020, but for obvious reasons, it was canceled.

I received a Qantas Pass as a credit for the flights I had booked.

I've found some flights that I wish to book, and I wish to use points + pay (which reduces the airfare by approximately $1000 AUD),

I,ve just landed on the payment screen and it says "Split payment is not avaliable for an itinerary that contains Qantas Points."

Does this mean that I cannot use my Qantas Pass in conjunction with cash and points + pay?

All of QF's FF's are loyal to this airline and stuck with them throughout the pandemic witch the basic knowledge that our points and travel credits would be safe.

How can this be the case?

Tell me it isnt!

I don’t think there’s any suggestion that your credits or points are under threat.

Based on what you’ve told us, it would appear that there’s a constraint, in which you would need to pick one or the other to use as payment for this transaction.

That is, use your credits OR use your points to pay for this itinerary.

Are you suggesting that by doing so, you will be forfeiting your points?

Not at all. Just would have assumed that you could use the points that you have earned, as well as your own money (in the form of a Qantas pass) as well as CC.

There's an upside to this as I can just do ppp on the MEL-bos leg and then Qantas pass + cc on JFK-MEL leg. Will just have to book them separately.

Nope. Won't allow me to do that as the individual legs shoot up in price by thousands!
Crazy

FWIW if you book a Classic Flight Reward you can pay the taxes using a Qantas Pass, if I recall correctly.

But yeah unfortunately you can't combine 3 different payment methods.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Would it be worth attempting to call to get an agent to possibly manually do it? Seems to me this should be possible to do but perhaps a website constraint? I know, huge pain point there for a potential now but it may be worth trying.

Hi RedSMS,

I'm having this exact same issue.

Trying to book flights to Thailand using my QFF points and to pay the difference using my Qantas Pass credit + credit card payment for the gap. Did you ever get this sorted? I've tried calling but got transferred around without success. The agent advised they weren't able to assist with booking using points, only commercial.

I've also logged it with the online customer care form which I anticipate won't go anywhere.

Thanks
