Hi

I was just checking my bookings for the family trip to MEL where on a Diamond Award (50K/night) I have scored a two bed suite - many thanks to the perky young thing that arranged that for me in the Exec lounge.

Out of interest I then clicked on the amenities and noted that the two room suite included 250 thread count bedding whereas the Yarra and (17m2 smaller) Relaxation suites do not list them. Shoul I expect a more luxurious experience in the two room suite? I have also just discovered the two bed suite has a kitchenette which will be great for feeding boygr!

I'm pretty sure the beddings the same but it is very handy having the kitchen with the kids ( and also the hallway separating the two bedrooms ;) )

Not to mention the bath that's not big enough to "drown a mouse in". ("I wish you were a mouse, I'd show you"...Basil Fawlty)

Seriously, they are very nice. Note the movie deal can be used simultaneously on both TVs......great for a family, especially if the weather is a bit dirty!

Boygr is only 3 1/2 so all of his entertainment will be via iPad hooked up to the TV unless I take the apple TV...

Just been upgraded to the 2 room suite
(just me!)
Bath definitely looks smaller than the Yarra suite but that stay involved much beer!
Can't comment on the sheets!

Oh are the movies free?

No and I must admit, when we were there in June the movie selection for 11YOs was just OK, for 3.5 YOs, not so extensive. On a similar topic, families should note that to block adult content movies, you have to contact reception and they get the IT geeks to do it. At HSP, password protection is available right there on screen. We learnt the hard way that our 15 YO son likes movies about big coughs after I queried a non-deal rental. The invoice doesn't state the movie, just a generic rental price. (and honest it was my son....not me ).

Likely story about the movie

Sounds like they are trying to value add for the suite.

250 thread count sheets doesn't scream luxury for me, though. I suspect it's just the same as the other sheets.
