I'm a complete newby when it comes to international travel with Virgin Australia, so I'm looking for some help from the more experienced members.

I have an opportunity to book some work travel for next year, but only if I can come up with a tax receipt to claim against today. So my first question is this: does Virgin Australia email payment receipts/E-tickets immediately after booking online? (I know that with Qantas, the itinerary sometimes takes days to come through, particularly for international flights.)

The other question is whether a fare can be upgraded from economy to premium economy by paying the fare difference (plus whatever fare change fee the original fare dictated). Work will only pay for economy, but I'd be happy to pay the difference myself to fly premium economy MEL-LAX return.

Thanks.

Your best bet would actually be to go to a travel agent. They will be able to ticket you immediately if they are asked to, and will also be able to charge you for an economy ticket through work and then the balance of the PE.
