I changed my flight today after Tiger canceled one of my Tuesday 7am legs. They did the right thing and let me change my fares (both legs) to neutralize the impact, For being decent, I upgraded my baggage a tad and supply CC details to a lady with a difficult accent.
Imagine seeing a updated e-invoce of $207 for a $68 flight in your inbox. My heart jumped a million miles high. WTF!!
I see $130 in there - hey! I did not authorise that! Then I look again, and it is not my CC, but I presume some internal adjustment account , and I see just the only authorised ten bucks. Panic over.
After the Four Corners show last night, I think, hey, thats a neat trick, with neater tax angles. So in the words of Albert Dent, Don't Panic with your modified email e-invoice.
They greased over not supplying a reason for cancelling my flight, and I am happy the change to more 'prime' times suited me. I just hope other lighty loaded flights I have also booked with them are not given the same treatment if they dont fill up.
I will now re-appraise if insurance would cover 'must fly' times in cases where my flexibility is non-negotiable, and I have 'another' airline to catch.
