Will be interesting to see how new ownership attempts to change this!

Tiger Australia posted a revenue of $72.6 million, and an operating loss of $12.9 million for
the quarter, compared to revenue of $40.3 million and operating loss of $8.6 million for 3Q
FY11-12. The widening of losses was largely due to a 11.5% drop in yield due to stiff
competition in the domestic market, and rising costs of operations. Passenger load factor
was fairly stable at 81.9%, despite the doubling of capacity to 958 million available seat
kilometres. Total expenses rose by $36.6 million, or 74.8%, to $85.5 million, as the airline
commenced new routes during the quarter, connecting Sydney and Melbourne to Adelaide,
Cairns, and Mackay.

Of course if they really wanted to hurt the opposition, they would schedule flights within 1 hour of Jetstar flights, advertise them for $9 (or perhaps even less), and ensure Google Ads (or whoever they use to deliver advertising content on their web site) throws up a Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee ad to every visitor.

However, this may not be a strategic move for long-term financial success ;)

This strategy will sure put a big smile on the faces of many AFFers!
