Time to ditch qantas amex ultimate card !!

Looks like it's time to ditch this card !
I got a letter today advising changes from 22nd July
3 points per dollar for qantas products & selected restaurants
2 points per dollar on accomodation + foreign currency spend o/s
1 point per dollar everything else EXCEPT ********** was 1.5 points per dollar
.5 point per dollar on utilities, insurance, telcos + Govt bodies

Want to run a book on the number of their cards that now get cancelled ??
Fortunately for me my renewal year is up in a month so I will ring up get my free flight I have not yet used and then ring back and then cancel and continue using my NAB PLATINUM AMEX @ 1.5 points per dollar until they fall into line. At least NAB is $ 160 per year cheaper
AMEX are idiots, heaps of VISA and MASTERCARDS give 1 point per dollr with modest annual fees

Me thinks the "good old days" of mega points accumulation is sadly drawing to a close or at best modest accumulation....ah well, it was good whilst it lasted

I suppose the bright side is a rationilastion of cards = a saving in annual fees and less entries on a credit check

Got the same letter yesterday. Mind you they charged my annual fee last month!! I literally tore the letter up and am trying to avoid ringing them in the current state I'm in becuase I'll only get hung up on.
