Hi All,

Thought it was time to introduce my self.

Ex Victorian now on the old Coast with Mrs TOF (40 years married) and should be retired however the Govt is making sure that I can't !

Have a Commercial Licence and for many years had an aircraft in charter.

Have no status with any airline (sadly) but have a business in health services that allows us to collect enough Amex points to travel o/s a couple of times a year.
Always with Singapore as I find reward flights easy to get. (Mrs TOF by name and nature prefers the pointy end)

Grandchildren in Sydney so numerous flights domestically - again no status - but normally Qantas from BNE on points.

Have enjoyed my short time on AFF and would like to thank all for the opportunity to rant, rave and ramble, and again thanks to all for the clues and experience you pass on.

Hello TiredOld Flyer,
The bell is ringing to put some of those payments onto Visa and MasterCard as the ATO have just lowered the transaction charge to 0.48% compared with 0.833% on your Kris Amex.
We will get to retire before the end of this century so don't panic!
It is lovely to see you have used Kris like our family.

Have pondered it for years but won't pay - just points. Still get to enjoy TPR but no dinners on Amex etc

Hi Cove,

Most of our points are with one supplier under an Industry agreement and any fee is an allowable approved tax deduction - makes the dollar value of the
points much more realistic.

Tax is another issue that I will have to look into. Thanks.
