Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Have done a recon re T1 dom to int on the outside pre immi and its easy.
Going to NRT on NH does not need an overnight stay.
VAd ADL dep 2.30pm, PER arr 4pm, enough time to make it for 9.30pm (NH dep at 9.30pm).
Coming back (if ADL based) with NH, then VAd, then, an overnight stay needed.
Will be great when train station at PER airport opens in 3 years time, assuming if no hotel erected at PER T1.
 
The BNE transfer is easy just go to the orange zone and an electric Bus does the rest, straight drive with no jams

If you say so. Not my experience. I've even had to wait for multiple buses as they are full, or wait up to 10 minutes for a bus. Have you seen the size of the queue area for the bus? Sometimes it is full, or even overfull.

Straightforward? Yes. Annoying? absolutely. It's basically SYD with maybe a shorter bus ride depending on the wait.

Very happy about Brisbane. A lot of us living Up this way like to head OS for our snow. Have been previously transiting in Hong Kong and Singapore. I avoid Jet Star even though they are closer to me out of the GC.

Every time I've waited for a bus there hasn't been too many people. If the orange bus is full, you could take the Airpark bus from Dom->Int instead. The next stop after Domestic is the International terminal (it goes even if there aren't any people wanting to get on/off there), before it goes to the Airpark car park.
 
Dom-Int transit in Sydney is terrible and Melbourne's basically the wrong direction.
Dom-Int transit in Brisbane still requires a bus or a train. Yes, Brisbane is a little less busy than Sydney but otherwise I don't see the difference is substantial.

Only place that has it right is Melbourne. If I were in ADL, I would much prefer to transit in MEL due to the simple 5 minute walk to International, even if the total flight time is extended by say, 20/30 minutes due to Melbourne not being quite in right direction.

Err, it's nearly 3 km. Remember there's a big freight terminal in between. A small shuttle train like the ones in Singapore or Hong Kong would be most suitable. I guess there is probably resistance to spend this kind of money when they already have a train line, but the frequencies on the QR line are really unsuitable for inter-terminal transfer. I wonder if they have approached QR about running additional frequencies just for terminal transfer. It's probably uneconomic due to the size of the trains, unfortunately.

Hopefully a long-term master plan has them moving the domestic terminal to be adjacent to the international. There does appear to be space north of International and south of the freight terminal. Unfortunately this probably isn't compatible with airport parking priorities (sigh).

I did the BNE transfer a couple of times this year, once with another Family with 2 young kids and only a 75 min layover. It was easy with even time in the lounge. BNE over SYD for me.
 
Hmmm and Friday 10/01/20 suddenly J reward redemptions have opened up SYD-MEL-HKG for 98K. I'm already ticketed SYD-HKG but am looking for a reasonable one for the return, which I why I noticed.
 

The Airbus A330 currently operating the Melbourne-Hong Kong route will be redeployed on the carrier’s new Brisbane Tokyo-Haneda flights starting March 29.
 
Thanks for the notating (on here) that VA will stop flights to CHC, (haven't checked up, if all Au VA flights to CHC will stop, or only those from SYD/BNE to CHC).
Didn't go indepth to find out that snippet.
I do make that trip maybe once per 2 years, did it with QF in the past, also EK, and most recently with (Air)NZ when my retro claim of points got rejected, had put in my SQ KF #, didn't want to make any fuss.
Looks like its back to flying QF/EK via SYD to CHC again.

It does make sense really. The CHC numbers are skewed a bit by the EK A380 that runs daily from Sydney. Makes it very hard to compete with a domestic config 737 and the pax numbers don't really support such capacity.
