Left Tokyo tonight with my family of four. QF Platinum and find there’s no lunge anymore, just the generic Aspire lounge. Platinum gets one guest, can pay for the two children.

The lounge is open to anybody me who pays, so you might as well say your QF status is just saving $150 off entry. It’s pretty average compared with Qantas FF domestic lounges and not even close to the updated business lounges. If we had the time again, I’d just pay to go into one of the great restaurants here and forget the lounge. Qantas doesn’t exist here.

before anyone asks, yes, I could get into the One World as an Emerald reciprocal member. But only with one guest. So instead of sitting in the JAL First lounge, we’re here in Aspire.

I am OW Ruby so no lounges for me and my family at Narita T2 3 weeks ago. Then again, my +1 hates going to lounges as it stopped her from going to airport shops.

We ended up spending at Japan Food Hall for delicious (and fairly pricey) food, plus spend most of the time at Fa-So-La Akihabara. There were a lot of Japanese souvenir food to buy home.

Assuming they go ahead with the flight changes, it's possible by April that Narita won't be serviced by Qantas at all. The slot currently used by Virgin on their CNS-HND is expected to become Qantas BNE-HND.

That sounds like the way to go. The Aspire lounge is nowhere near as nice as the places to eat at the airport.
