I'd add 'Early Check-In' and have that and 'Late Check-Out' closer to the top... I can't ever seem to arrive or depart when I am supposed to! Other than WiFi and Breakfast (which 50% of the time I don't make it for anyway), none of the other things are of interest to me.

How about "The amenity of the quiet enjoyment of your room" - that is, to be undisturbed by noise pumped out at all hours by the in-house disco, or an 'event' in a marquee set up in the hotel lawn and to have room walls thick enough that you can't hear EVERYTHING from the room next door!

Other than that, I agree with dairyfloss.

Very good point, the noise in some rooms be it a bar or even just people in the corridor can make or break a good night sleep.

Ahhh yes, absolutely... a new one to add for sure! I still vividly remember working on a project in Bismarck, ND, staying in some small Best Western type of place. There was a couple in the room next to me that were there for the 1st two (or almost two) nights of my long stay. On night one, they had the most significant domestic I can recall hearing - things being thrown, yelling, etc etc... Complaints made. No sleep. Then, on night two, the same again started up in the middle of the night, but then a third party knocked and I think forced entry somehow saying he was going to shoot them both if they didn't shut the !$#@ up. I think he actually had a weapon in hand. They checked out almost immediately afterwards. It was non-eventful after that, except for having to explain to everyone where Australia was every day.

Bright lights and easy to use light switches.
Lots of easily accessible power points.
Hot chocolate with the coffee.
Fridge space for my use.
Easy to use clock radios. Hilton I'm looking at you here!

Sauna and hot tub??? I don't think I've ever stayed in a place with them, at least I certainly haven't gone looking for them!!

Most hotels have them, often in the room in terms of a hot tub.

Agree that WiFi belongs at the top of the list. Should be free and easy to use, even for tablets and phones.

Would have late checkout/early checkin there too. Most of the rest (besides some bathroom supplies) are pretty superfluous to me. Rather find a nice café down the road than have another mediocre hotel breakfast for instance.

This may be a lost in translation thing to me but I see hot tub as being a big sort of spa thing but separate from the swimming pool.

Some are a bath, others are a full on spa, ie the Double Tree Esplanade Darwin has one on the balcony of its suite, I used to lend the room to straitman when it was a HI.

The room I am currently in in Singapore now has one usuable powerpoint after I unplugged the kettle.

It's for ths reason I bring a powerboard & an extension cord.

And when they are there I don't use them! The hot tub we had in Canada was full of nasty smelling chemicals, it would kill everything

I think that about sums it up for me, too.

Some of my fave favourite things:
1. Free WiFi with a good connection
2. Light weight bathrobe. Such a drag getting back from a big day out, much nicer to lounge about in a robe before re-dressing.
3. Walk in shower, climbing in and out of a bath tub.....pass
4. Tea and Coffee
5. A power point in the lamp base, whoever thought of that idea....thank you.
I'm sure there is more after just arriving back in AU and staying in 5 hotels.
