TPE Recommendations

Hi people, I've just booked my first long weekend in Taipei and looking for your recommendations for things to see, do and eat

Have been to TPE many times before (but never left the airport ) so any and all recommendations are welcome.

National Palace Museum, Shi Lin night markets, street food (no big deal ex HKG but cool if your aussie), Pottery Street, Taipei 101, Beitou hot springs (via MRT), and dont forget the original Mongolian BBQ just up from the Westin

Where are you staying?

include a trip on the new high speed railway from main station, it travels south.

A day trip to Taroko Gorge is well worth it. There was a guide in my hotel with day trips and this was one of them. I remember we flew up there and spent the day travelling about and then caught the fast train back. Magnificent day and well worth it.

I quite enjoyed TPE and hope to get back one day.
