Hi
I am wanting to use my QFF points to book flights for my whole family (total 4) - is it best to transfer all the points to one person or try and do separate bookings. I am just worried I would miss out if I was to do it separately.

Any advice appreciated.
Many thanks

My experience has been is that is is best to transfer all points to the person with the highest status (note you can only do this once a year) and get them to book for everybody. Gold FF in particular and higher get access to more seats than lower. If you don't have enough points for all, get the highest status person to pay separately (it will be a different PNR) so you can as they have more flexibility with choosing their own seat. I've used this strategy flying with Mrs Here2go and infant, where there are rules relating to men and women sitting next to each other.

If there are four available awards on the dates you want to try you wont have better luck booking two lots of two than one lot of four. Similarly if it did make a difference you could still book it all from one account as you can book awards for other people. Booking separate awards with different ticket numbers increases the risk that you might not be seated together (yes you can link PNRs but I prefer not to introduce additional risks).

Can you link PNR's on line or is this something you need to ring up for

Not aware of being able to do it online (and would be very surprised if it was possible). Have done it a couple of times (once QF, once VA) and both have been phone call jobs.
