Transferring Amex MR to Qantas etc - Aus vs USA Amex - Family Transfer Issues

I'm in a situation. My brother in the US is flying QF, and doesn't have ANY FF points with them. As an American, he can't transfer Amex MR to QF points. He can't transfer MR to me.

So If I were to family transfer 90K QF points to him to upgrade the two from Prem Econ to J, how does he get the points back to me?

He can transfer to EK, Virgin Atlantic, and Kris flyer, but I know KF doesn't allow any family transfers.

Any ideas of getting around these road blocks?

Give him the points and get him to redeem an equivalent valued FF seat / upgrade for you in the future.
