Hi
does anyone know if you can transfer points from Amex to Kris Flyer in another name?

Can you transfer the points between amex accounts?

Not suppose to.... It's against Amex's T&C.
but then again, you can always try to submit a transfer and see if it works.

I transferred my MR points to mums account. Same surname but different person.

I would not be surprised if they did not do any check and simply transferred the MR points across to nominated account. Or it could be a random process.

To clarify, I transferred from dad's MR to my SQ and, again, it's same surname.

has anyone sold rewards points and transferred them to another program in another name?
i know the T&C rules but i have been told its doable
thanks

Only for programs with family transfers provisions. Otherwise they usually just hand over control of the account entirely.

Why not try transferring them?

Also if you were transferring enough MR points for a reward then you can transfer them to yourself and add the other person as award nominee and book flight for them.

I am wondering if you manage to transfer points to another account as described above if the life-span of the points is renewed? Say account A.B(surname) has 3 months life left on their points and makes a transfer to Account B.B (same surname). Does the system recognise that the transferred parcel of shares has 3 months before expiry or does this parcel miraculously gain a time before expiry extension?

If you are referring to SQ prozac, then I believe all points have their own tag for when they will expire. So in theory you could have points expire at different times.

From memory Amex MR points do not expire unless account is inactive.

Yes John I was referring to SQ points. Interested to know if the transferred points regained life once in the hands of new owner. As you say if they have their own unique tag then this will not happen. Thanks for the quick response.

There's no "new owner." You can't transfer SQ points from one account to another only from a point warehouse (MR, Citi or Altitude etc.) to SQ.

Of-course, what was I thinking! I started to go off-track with talk of transferring to other people's accounts. Started me thinking....wouldn't it be good if......away with the faeries. Doh.
