transfrring amx points to FF progam- any bonuses on offer Qantas/UA/ Virg??

I have a bunch of amx reward points I want to transfer to a frequent flyer program and know that sometimes they have "bonus" periods where an extra percentage is added to the transfer amount.. ie 25% bonus. Does anyone know if any of these offers are running/ about to run with Qantas, United or Virgin/ Velocity??? Am just not sure which account to put them into to maximise the benefits!!

In most cases, you cannot transfer Amex MR points to Qantas unless the account is setup for direct sweep, in which case you have no choice as the points automatically go to Qantas FF.

I am not aware of any current promotions for Amex MR points to other programs. There was a promotion running to the end of June for miles transferred to AAdvantage from hotel programs, and Amex MR points could be sent to Starwood Preferred Guest program and then to AA to collect the 35% bonus (on top of the 25% regular bonus from SPG), making it a worthwhile transfer process. But that ended at the end of June.

Best way to find the current deals is to look at the Amex web site.

Thanks- I had forgotten I was now unable to transfer points to Qantas... Just need to figure out who is going to give me the best deal- I will post back when I have done a bit more research and let you know where I end up moving them too. But if anyone has any great deals let me know!!
