Following on from the above post which alerted me to this issue, in early October, I wlll be flying Cph-Sin-Syd with 2 options: 1) a transit time of 55 mins in Sin or 2) just over 3 hours. I would prefer the longer transit so no need to rush in Sin, can go to lounge for a shower and then have some breakfast. But the above post made me check and found that CURRENTLY passengers from Denmark need to wait in a Transit Holding area with no lounge access so it will be pointless choosing the 3 hour transit option.

I know this will be speculation only, but what criteria do you think will the Singapore authorities use to get rid of these Transit Holding areas? Thoughts...

EDIT: I posted too early and just found this: "Latest update: All connecting passengers, except for those from countries/regions in the Restricted Category as classified by Singapore's Ministry of Health, will not need to remain within the Transit Holding Area from 2359 hours on 21 February 2022 (Singapore Time). There are no countries/regions currently in the Restricted Category. Click here for latest information."

Travellers flying from a Category IV country, or from Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom will be required to stay within a transit holding area, where amenities are restricted. Travellers from these countries may wish to consider booking the Aerotel Singapore Transit Hotel at Changi Airport Terminal 1 or Ambassador Transit Hotel at Changi Airport Terminal 3, where they can stay within the hotel throughout their transit..

Woohoo! This is all evolving very quickly and for the better!

We’re transiting to/from LHR in late March / May. I booked a reasonable layover over but went for a shorter one back - but fingers crossed, we might get a shower in after all.
