On Monday 15th April we will be transiting through HKG on CX as J passengers. We have a 6 hour layover before we head off to Paris. Which is the best CX Lounge to use? Is it The Wing, The Pier The Cabin or The Arrival? Looking for a shower, food and a relax. And "No" we don't want to catch the fast train into HK as we're staying there on our way home. JB

Well you could try them all except the Arrival lounge because that is land side after immigration etc and reserved for F and OWE pax.

Depending on where your gates are either the Wing or the Pier will meet your needs.

Did the same thing last year and went to 2 of The Lounges. From memory I had a shower in The Wing which was closest to our gate and which was fantastic...helpful shower attendant, large shower and good quality towels and amenities. Lots of space, plenty of snacks and drinks.

Wing was under refurbishment last year and the Temporary J lounge was not as good as Pier. Pier has no view but if you have OWE the F lounge is great with sleep rooms and good restaurant service. Even not on menu you can order won ton noodles cooked for you - they are of great standard - if you like them.

Then I must of been in The Pier! Knew one of them was closed at the time!

The lounges are all not bad in HKG,

Do the lounge run and then wait at the gate closest to your departure gate as it can take a while to get around the airport.

Have to agree with this; unless I'm sleeping I'd be going stir-crazy after six hours, even in the nicest lounge, and the walk won't be a bad thing.
And don't forget the QF lounge.

I was in the new J lounge of the Wing last year and have done the Pier too. It will depend on your departure gate, but I think the Wing is better than the Pier.

All the lounges in HKG airport are good including the Qantas lounge and G15 lounge.

I'm sure CX J pax get access to the Arrivals...

If the pax is CX J class, he/she won't get access to QF lounge unless one world platinum (or gold?). Another option is actually get into HKG. Buy an airport express return ticket (about AUD$15) and you can get to Central (30 min each way) and have a walk around Central or take a Star Ferry ride.

How about a OW lounge-crawl? Take a photo of yourself consuming bubbles (or similar) at each and every OW J lounge in HKG, and post them here as a trip report. :)
