I'm looking at booking a fare at the moment from Australia via KUL/HKG/LHR to EDI.

At this stage I'm looking at a 105 minute transit in KUL, 85 minutes in HKG, and 145 minutes clearing customs and transiting in LHR.

I'm not too worried about the obvious choke point in LHR, as both flights are with BA and there are later options to EDI if needed.

I'd love some advice from people on the reliability of KUL and HKG for transiting pax - are these times too short to make a connection comfortably?

Those connections are doable but any sort of delay at either KUL and HKG may end up causing issues.

For KUL: Is it MH on one ticket? Ie SYD - KUL - LHR? If yes, you should be fine in KL as you get off straight into the C Terminal an can line up again at another gate at the C gates to go onwards to LHR. It could literally be the next gate. So unless you have a delay ex-SYD, you will be fine on MH and I would actually think it’s easier than transiting via HKG.
