Recently my flight from Athens to Dubai was delayed by three hours which meant that I missed a connecting flight to Melbourne.
Upon arriving in Dubai I was transferred to a hotel for five hours then transferred back to airport three hours then got the flight home.
Very long time but service due to disruption from Emirates was great.
Upon arriving home I got email from a company associated with TripIt who I use to record my travel details saying I maybe eligible for a refund and wanted copies of boarding passes etc.
I note on Emirates when site you can make claims .
Just seeking advice from other members making claim for flight delays - was flying Emirates.

Hi - I've not used it, but aware of it's existence in connection with TripIt - it's called AirHelp.
More here: AirHelp

As your affected journey originated in Greece, it has identified a potential claim for compensation under EU261. This said, there would be a commission / fee for the service deducted from your payout if successful, whereas I'm sure there would be a simple enough way to make the claim directly and avoid this.

I'd be inclined to submit directly via Emirates own site.

Cheers,
Matt.

A delayed flight from the EU, on any airline, can be subject to EU261 reimbursement & compensation. Depends on the reason for delay. EK have given you the required duty of care.
The companies that "assist" in claim will take 25% - 30%. They only offer a service if they are sure the claim will be successful.
No reason why you cannot do it yourself, based on the delay to MEL

There's some inherent risk in having your claim handled by an intermediary too. The terms and conditions in at least some of them allow them to take legal action against the airline on your behalf - which is all well and good if you/they win, but a nightmare if you/they lose. Not sure about Emirates, but there have definitely been instances where a legal case against Finnair for EU261 was raised and lost, and Finnair then subsequently pursued the passenger/claimant for legal costs relating to the case.

Can you please provide us with a link to this case? I don't know what EU264 is (is it different from EU261?).

Think it is a typo by GDale, refers EU261

Thanks astrosly! Typed too fast, didn't notice the silly mistake, and didn't have links on hand. That's what's great about this community - plenty of knowledgeable people around :)
