I was just about to sign up with Insureandgo for annual insurance. Almost all finalised with an extra week to pay for as we are staying in the UK for 63 days and 60 days is their maximum length you can be away. I am not sure of the reason for this, some insurance companies it is 30 days and a few 90. I cannot understand that if you have two trips of 45 days, how this is any less of a risk to the insurance company than one trip of 90 days due to the extra flights.
However that is not the main reason.
I got my husband to check again the DFS and he said did I know that they will only insure the car for 21 days. You either then have to change car hire companies or wait 72 days, might be both. So anyone taking out annual insurance with insureandgo who need to hire a car for longer, just be aware you are NOT covered. Once again the logistics of this are beyond my comprehension.
We are 74 and 77 respectively and getting a decent comprehensive annual insurance under $1,600 seems an impossibility. There is always something in the PDF that does not meet our requirement.
I wonder if anyone has any comments about insurance.
