My old man (52) is undertaking a 10 day motorbike trip in Costa Rica later this year. I need some advice on a comprehensive travel insurance provider who would:

a) cover an accident/injury that occured while biking off/on-roiad
b) is particularly generous/reasonable in regards to evacuations (i.e. don't want to get stuck in a Costa Rican hospital)

If anyone could offer any advice it would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Sounds like a fun trip!
I can't help with who, but I can help with who not. TID (Travel Insurance Direct) clearly make it known on their policy documents they won't cover any sort of adventure activities including this type of stuff

Good to know - will have to stop using them for ski trips!

Currently looking at World Nomads who specifically list motorbiking as covered

Check out ihi bupa - I've used them twice for coverage - once for a motorcycle tour in Vietnam and the other for driving rickshaws in India. I haven't needed to claim from them but their policy doesn't have many exclusions which is a good start.

Sefty we must be looking at completely diff sections. My yearly policy with them states that.

How old is your annual policy?

The pds changed a few months ago.

The .pds that existed at the time you took out the insurance is the one you are covered under (that why I always keep copies.)
