My son is going for a week long holiday in Bali shortly. I am hunting around for the best travel insurance for him. Can anyone recommend a good policy or give any suggestions on what to look for?

I would get (and pay for) advice from a Broker, rather than assume I knew how to 'compare' the products myself. Travel Insurance can be far too important to make a mistake as a layman. Also, make him completely aware of things he may not be covered for. Drinking and riding a motorbike, for example!
