Trying to get used to the new look of this forum but wanted to give you an update on our recent car hire experience with Travel Jigsaw. We used them for our recent trip to the USA and picked up our prepaid car at LAX without a hitch, only thing to pay was Road Side Assistance at $5.00 per day. Went straight to the Alamo service desk which was not busy and was told to choose a car from the line we wanted a Saturn vue but none available and ended up with a Kia Sportage which suited us fine. Did almost 3000 miles in our 3 and half week trip which took in Lake Havasu, Las Vegas, West Rim Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, South Rim Grand Canyon, Palm Springs , San Diego and LA.
The price was very competitive and we would certainly use them again. A GPS is a must though.

Thanks for the update.

Will look in to them next time I am over on the West Coast.

Was the roadside assistance compulsory?
I usually rely on my NRMA membership.

No the Road Side was not compulsory but was not covered by Travel Jigsaw and not sure if we had any coverage via the RACV so it seemed the best option and I am sure I read somewhere on here to make sure that you had this coverage.

GPS - too tunnel vision for me and isn't a must, much prefer the old fashioned map so I can see the big picture in detail in case I'm missing something interesting on the way past. (just finished 6000 mile trip in the US, no GPS required)

Thanks for that. I've been looking for ages for a decent place that will accommodate a few extra drivers. These guys did for no extra. Also all insurances and great price. Cool :)

We used travel jigsaw for car hire in Vegas at New Year's this year and got a good inclusive deal including gps and free tank of fuel. I can also read a map but still prefer a gps when we are driving in the US as we are also concentrating on driving on the 'wrong' side of the road.
