Hi there, travelling alot this year from visiting local cities, Perth for the first time and Sydney, before venturing over to Germany and western Europe. North Island New Zealand next year and it looks as amazing as South Island we ventured to last year. Travelled to Vanuatu a few times and Fiji twice. Dived around the east coast of Borneo. I look forward to gathering and sharing travel info.

NZ North Island really is beautiful even though South Island gets most of the plaudits. Try the Coromandel Peninsula (I visit four or five times a year) and the Bay of Islands It can be windswept and interesting on the west coast and of course there is Wellington with great cafes, restaurants and culture if you want city life. Napier is excellent for a visit with very good vineyards nearby.

Thanks so much for the wonderful recommendations. The itinerary is in the planning stage and we would like to venture to the more local areas as well, and minimise the 'tourist' locations.
