We were on the Virgin flight where an infected lady travelled to Townsville are now in quarantine in QLD.

On this trip, Virgin has changed our scheduled flights 4 times, is this normal? After rescheduling a third time to the 10th of July, we have now been rescheduled again and asked to layover in Brisbane and that probably would mean another 14 days quarantine in Victoria.

Myself and my family are struggling through the quarantine here, doing all what we are asked to do....all we ask is for Virgin to stop changing our flights please so we can get home.

Rescheduled flights multiple times would be normal, considering this weeks border closures. Doesnt help you Im afraid but wishing you the best.

Lots of changes not unusual... my father's Qantas flight to Queensland was cancelled/changed three times. And another two times after he cancelled it for a full refund via the call centre. At one stage they had his departing flight out of Melbourne rescheduled so many times it was later than his return flight home!

Instead of staying in Brisbane overnight, could you drive out of the hotspot zone and stay overnight there? I'm not 100% up on what areas Victoria considers hotspots in QLD though, so this might not work.

VA was operating a limited schedule before, even more so now... If it was me, I would cancel with Virgin and ask for a refund... and then fly up to Cairns with Qantas, where there may be more options to get you home. Of course, depending on your budget, the costs involved may be too high!?

This, except instead of flying up to CNS, rebook on the Jetstar service direct to MEL from TSV. They have a daily service, although on the 10th it looks like two services that day.

I know AFF there is general disdain for Jetstar but with so much stuff going on with respect to borders, nonstop is probably the lowest risk.

Thanks to everyone for their informed feedback....I had it in mind to cancel with Virgin and go with Qantas / Jetstar and will try to do this today and your comments have reinforced this. I really appreciate it.
