I’ve never heard of pax staying on for any crew changeover. Happy to be corrected.
Good point about the crew changeover.

Have done it several times where the crew has stayed on for the next sector.

Back in ye olde days it was not uncommon for pax to be able to get off during transit but leave all cabin baggage on board :)

Can anyone confirm if passengers stay on the aircraft during the technical stop in KUL on the Turkish Airlines flight SYD-IST or if they get to disembark for a short period.
Hi, Did you get an answer to this? I have tried to find this out with Turkish Airlines to no avail.

Whilst I know this is a thread about the TK stop, thought I’d confirm that it does happen elsewhere.

BA B777 which was flying a tag flight then on to London: GCM-NAS-LHR
I only flew the short first leg about a fortnight ago.
Cabin crew advised, whilst taxiing in to NAS, that pax for LHR stay on the plane. The crew would be changing over. They advised that everyone had to be able to point out their carry on bags to the new crew, when they had boarded.

I just flew this - they deboard you. It's an annoying process because you are directed straight to the gate you exited - have to go through bag scan/security again (at the gate) and then wait around twiddling your thumb for 45 mins. It's not a fun process.
A short stop where you can freely stand and walk around even in a gated area sounds heaven to me to break up the long trip sitting!!
