AFF'ers I've got a question/pickle.

I've got a booking at HSW and also HOTP for the 29th November, the good lady at HSW and myself and mates at HOTP as we're getting married the next day in the Fitzroy gardens.

Both bookings are under my name however I won't be checking in at the HSW, will that booking receive exec lounge access? I am HH Diamond.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: Hilton Surfers Paradise
Stay/night 3 - Beer had disappeared and been replaced by 2 large bottles of water (one still, one sparkling):shock::shock:.

Have you never heard the saying...."It's the thought that counts"....

Perhaps they assumed as the beers had not been consumed immediately, that you were not beer drinkers and hence may prefer the waters. A simple question may have been more professional though. As anat0l has said, this Hilton lacks anything remotely close to class. I did walk through there the other weekend (whilst waiting for my duaghter who was at a party) and there is so much that they could do with it, but that would require a renovation. No way that'll happen when they still seem to sport a near full hotel most times..............maybe it's us that are out of whack. Perhaps the down market attitude and decor at a higher than normal rate is just what the majority of GC tourists want.

Telephone them and advise the guest name that'll be making the check-in. My wife has from time to time stayed without me (though not yet at HSW) and there has never been an issue with exec. lounge access. I must admit though, I usually fib just a little and state she'll be checking in and I'll be arriving later (even though that's not the intention) just to ensure it.

Are you able to drop in during the day and check in yourself? You could then tell the desk your partner will be arriving later and to keep her key card for her as you won't be back till later.

Alternatively, ring them and ask about exec lounge access etc.

edit: If you can't visit and don't want to ring you could add a note to your booking online and give your partner's name as the person booking in as you are coming later. When she checks out there should be a different front dest crew so no-one should be the wiser.

Congrats on getting married!
You selected a beautiful location.
My friend is also getting married on the same date in the Botanic Gardens.

Regarding you HSW booking, just add your lady as second guest and when she checks in she will get all the diamond privileges.
I did it for my missus a few times when she traveled with her parents to Sydney & Cairns and it always worked.

Now, here's a question I need to know - if you book two hotels on the same night, will they be two separate stays and nights under the HHonors program?

You will get all the benefits of your status for both stays but only one of them will earn points & miles. They usually choose the more expensive one.
