Has anyone tried them?

My car in Sydney has mechanical issues and looking to hire a car for 3 days from Saturday. Forget that one cannot hire a car past 5:00pm-6:00pm Saturday night the rate is $200+/day which is a joke.

Looking at Uber Carshare but never used them. Any experiences?

I've just looked at 44 reviews and each one negative.

I think that answers question.

When I’ve looked, a regular car rental has been a better option.

There are other carshare scout there worth considering if you just need it for a couple of hours each day - GoGet, PopCar, Flexicar.

If you must have it for multiple days, then one of the “traditional” ones may be better.

Thanks. At $500-$600 for 3 days that's not an option.

Can take little one home to mum and dad with bus and stay in hotel rest of the time.

It's not just the $ (yes ok maybe it is🙂), it's the knowledge that you're being taken advantage of... I just checked, a corporate account can get 3 day car hire in Sydney for<$200.
I haven't tried it, but isn't there a booking app that connects renters with private people who are wanting to rent their spare car?

Car rental pricing is insane at the moment.
A bit like airlines. Sold their cars during covid and have not updated the fleets to cater for increased demand.

@Brissy1 there are a few apps around but I've not seen any good reviews.

I'm going to risk driving my old car. No reverse and wonky gear box that may need replacing anyway.
