Hi folks,

Apologies if this has been posted before - if so, please reply with link to relevant post(s).

Basically, my question is how many QFF members have gone well and truly beyond the WP achieve / retain point? For these people, do you receive any "special" benefits from QF for this? If so, what?

If not, I'm interested in the numbers - do we as a group have enough leverage to screw some extras out of QF?

As an example, my SC "earn" for the past 2 membership years has been:

Oct 06-Sep 07: 2960
Oct 07-Sep 08: 2990

and this year I made the 1200 point retain level in the first 2 months.

If there are sufficient numbers of people in a similar circumstances, perhaps there is scope to put pressure on QF to recognise that there is a level beyond WP that they should give consideration to.

In a related question, how many WPs out there have achieved the "Partner Gold" level, and found it either of no or extremely limited value?

Achieved PG once in the last 3 or 4 years. No value to me at all.

Regarding tiers above WP+PG, Qantas has been known to recognise people through various means - such as invites onto A380 test/proving flights, bottles of decent plonk at Christmas etc.

I think rather than expecting Qantas to acknowledge your flying patterns, you should be evaluating other FF schemes.

AA in particular is a good scheme to use (once passing WP) and if flying in Full Y/J/F fares.

My highest single year SC earn was 3600. No special treatment beyond what any Platinum member would expect.

The first time I achieved Partner Gold, the only flying Mrs NM did was on business class award tickets, so no need for Gold status. It went unused. Then it lapsed and the year we could have used it, was not available to us. So we purchased a Qantas Club Partner membership for her. Then the following year I was back to Partner Gold so her membership was suspended for a year.

Thanks for the feedback Mal. I guess I'm not so much trying to get QF to acknowledge my flying pattern as trying to determine if QF have misjudged their FF bands, and if so, whether there is enough "weight" to get them to review / reconsider.

Currently on 3,600 SC's for the year, with another 45 today. PG has been useful for the last two years - particularly later this month as my girlfriend's doing a Europe/Thailand holiday and gets to use all the lounges along the way.

(I joined QFF 2yrs 10months ago and may hit Lifetime Silver in under 3 years :D).

No special treatment over regular Plat treatment per se, but having said that, regular Plat treatment is pretty good! QF have certainly "bent the rules" several times for me, getting me out of some pretty tricky situations. I'm certainly very happy with the service. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

If I had not credited to AA my QF SCs would have been around 6000 in one twelve month period so I dont think that 2900 is in the uber levels.

Had ~3500 SC's "expire" about 8 weeks ago. Around the same time, I achieved LTSG.

Before I came across AFF & FT I had accumulated ~3800 SC's over the six years since September 1998 (When TC/SC were introduced).

In the four years since, I have earned another ~10,700 SC's.

Now I have attained LTSG, the only decision I need to make is whether to post to AAdvantage after earning either 1200 (WP) or 2100 (WP/PG) SC's this year ...

When(ever) that day comes for me, that'll be the exact decision I'll have to make too. Once you've got LTG and WP/PG...why keep crediting to QF for that year? ;)

Did I read somehere (here, FT, somewhere else?) that QF have implemented a reasonably good CRM to track customer spend, and are focussing their "beyond platinum" attentions on high spenders?

With the vagaries of the oneworld FF programs, it is quite easy for someone to have 3000 SC's and spent $400 on QF, whilst others have no SC's and have spend $100,000 on QF flights, so SC's whilst provide one measure of loyalty, aren't the be all and end all indicator of customer value.

Sounds reasonable to me. I've heard SPG do the same thing with Plats (although as the cheapest of cheap Plats, I certainly get good treatment!)

What sort of flying to do predominately do Febs? Domestic/Intl - Y/J/F?
