Unable to book flights on Singapore Airlines website

Has anyone had trouble with the SIA website? I have just spent hours hours finding a multi-city trip which was basically a return flight from BNE to SEA with a stop each way in SIN. I selected the flights, entered the passenger details and when I tried to proceed I received a message that the site was unable to confirm my flights/fare at this time and I should make a different selection. Which flight it was referring to I have no idea. I tried different browsers, different dates and the problem still exists
I tried the Chat line and waited over an hour but there was no response except to say that I was waiting for a representative. I tried to call reservations in Singapore but seemingly you need to enter a 6 digit code.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It's now 1am Sunday so I'm resigned to waiting until the morning to try Singapore again.

Thanks for your reply but I don't understand why this would occur on Singapore Airlines own website. If you search an airline's website and enter the dates and times that you are able to fly then surely they will only display flights and prices that suit that criteria. I could understand if I went to a third party site. What's the point of entering the dates and selecting flights, completing the passenger details and then coming up with this message (and not fully explaining what the problem is)?

Guessing you are booking for multiple passengers and on some legs only 1 seat is available at the selected price.

I have noticed similar things recently with their website. If you do a multicity, it seems to price with lower pricing as opposed to booking one way. However, if the stop is less than 48 hours, it wouldn't actually let me execute the booking as a multicity booking and give an error.

I have attached an example of this when i tried MAA-SIN-MEL (multistop) vs MAA-MEL (oneway). You can see the difference in the fares for the same flights, but only one of them is actually bookable.

Thanks for your insights. I feel that Lynda may have discovered the real reason. Although I did state that there were 2 passengers from the outset, so the system should have known to offer an option where there were 2 seats available.
In any event, I called SIA reservations and the price per person increased by almost $100 (new total of $4996). Not too bad considering the prices on the surrounding days & other airlines.
