Unable to select Business class sets T-80 hours from flight (LAX to BNE)

Hi all

Flying back home via Business on QFF flight from LAX to BNE (A330-200). Have just logged on to manage booking and select seats (bronze status) but still having the same issue where I am unable to select the exact seats, and am only given the option of ’seat preference’. As I’m flying with my partner, hoping we get seats in the middle together.

This flight was booked over the phone a few weeks ago (Qantas had to rebook us to this flight by opening up business seats due to Qatar cancelling our flight due to Qantas not re-issuing the e-ticket fast enough).

Any help is appreciated!
 
Flights are quite full these days in J, so cabin might simply be full.

I just had a quick look on EF and QF16/56 in the coming 3 days are J0. So full.

I will absolutely flip considering we had Qsuite bookings on Qatar all locked in for our return honeymoon flights and we had unnecessary stress trying to get Qantas to accept responsibility for not re-issuing e-tickets fast enough and ended up giving up and getting an alternate route booked.

I will call Qantas in a few hours when its not 3am in LA…
 
This happened to us on a recent return trip from YVR to SYD in Y+. One chose aisle pref, other window and we were allocated seats together but couldn’t see what they were until check-in. Silver QFF.

It might be full but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a seat, it just might not be allocated yet.

I doubt you will be downgraded. They're just not selling any more seats, and unfortunately because of your flight move you did not get the option to choose, so you will get a seat but probably not an ideal one.
 
I guess I’ll sit tight until check in 24 hours before to see…

This happened to me on by business class seat on Jetstar to and from Melbourne to Singapore. Ii would not let me select my seat; I was automatically allocated a business class seat - but the process still sucked. Then they left my baggage in Singapore on the return journey - took three days to get it back!
 
So as an update, I’ve just online checked in 24 hours before. I got assigned 1A and my partner got assigned 3F.

Hoping 3E may be a solo traveller who may want 1A or be nice enough to swap…

Gee regardless of the outcome ...it is in fact just about a downgrade.Qatar to Qantas!! I would be livid. Can you not enforce a routing via SYD with QR instead?
