Peoples,

anyone who is a smoker and travels a bit through the USA will know the thread topic line off by heart. It is part of the message broadcast every few minutes through the loudspeakers at the entrances to airports in the USA.

And from this I ask the following: What is the most memorable aspect of any given airport you have (suffered) travelled through? Distil your memories into just one thing.

What makes a certain airport unique?

Some spring to mind:

HAV - interesting aircraft shock
MUC - a maze
AFO - location location location (basically the airport runs to the end of a cliff and the landscape is so stark - not a tree to be seen)
ZIH - shambles and cranky Americans
HRE - loooooooooong takeoff roll
HKG - Dim Sum (surprisingly good - yes, at the airport!)
JFK - sloooooowwwww baggage
LAX - hell hole :evil::evil::evil: (easiest one to sum up in two words!)


I'm sure i can think of others but they're the ones that spring to mind first.

LHR - what will security require me to take off today?
MXP - total dump
SFO - "Please hold on, please set luggage cart breaks to on"
LAX / MIA - "Welcome to the United States Customs and Border Protection" ... for hours on end

LSI - the first airport that ever made me take my belt off prior to passing through the WTMD. And such a pissant little airport too!
