I am just looking on EF at the seat map for QF10 in Y... I notice that the 2nd row of Y is "Premium", which is different to exit rows which are "$" (meaning you pay for them).
What does that mean? I have never seen "P" for a QF seatmap before (see it on AA all the time though)

Maybe this:

Yeah I checked it out - but where the EF seatmap has "P", the QF seatmap for the same seats doesn't show anything - just normal.

If you do not have your QFF# linked in EF your status is not recognised. Your profile says you are QFF Platinum, so that will show differently to what EF will display for someone with lower or no status depending on QF allows for the various elite levels.

Reserved for status holders.
Oddly though in my experience the seats reserved for higher status holders usually show up as blocked not premium on EF.
In this seatmap row 1 in J and rows 4 & 5 in Y are blocked out (the X as compared to solid blue for occuppied).
Compare the blocked seats with the X to seat 9B which has the P for premium. Row 9 is the mooted quick exit row.
I have put my QFF info into EF so in theory this should be what is visible to a WP.
The flight is a bit more than a week away so nowhere near the T-80 free for all.
Don't ask me why 4C & 4D aren't blocked on EF - they are showing as blocked to me in QF seat selection in manage my booking.

Interestingly on this seatmap my "shadow" is not blocked although on two other flights I have booked currrently it is showing, and moves if I change seats.
Do they not do shadows on the SYD-MEL flights perhaps?

Agreed. That has been my experience too.
But this baby has both!

Row 41 (where I am sitting) shows "P" on EF but looks normal on the QF website to me.
Row 40 is blocked on PE and QF.

I have realised the reason 4C & 4D show as occuppied on EF but blocked on QF is because QF doesn't show whether a blocked seat is occuppied or not.
