Unexpected "extension" of status

So my Gold status was due to expire on July 8.
I had 3 flights for 4 of us (pooled to me) due in September and I sent Velocity and email asking if there was a chance they could extend my status.
I got a nice reply back, but of course it said there was no way it could be done.
I'd drop to Silver and could still have some benefits, one was luggage with Delta on US domesic flights so I was happy with that.

Today I logged in to see what my points were looking like and I was still on Gold. I checked and it says that I have to earn 400 status credits by 8 July 2020 !
So It looks like my status was extended for a year.

I'm shocked TBH but happy as we can use the lounge in Sydney before our flight to LA.

Isn't there a one month delay to allow for missing status credits to appear before it drops. Its been a few years since I dropped a status level and can't remember exactly what it shows but sure someone will have a better idea.

That would suggest it has been extended. In my experience the 'review period' lasts a little over two weeks and by now you would be on the other side of that.

I'll keep my eye on it but it DID say 2019 and now it says 2020

I use the Velocity App to keep track of everything and it is still showing that I am Gold and need to get X amount of Status Credits and fly X amount of sectors before July 2020 to Maintain Gold.
BUT, when I go to the Velocity website on a computer it says I am silver.
Delta flight still shows as Gold Medallion.
What the heck is going on?

I suspect if you unlink your Velocity number on your Delta flight and re-add it will show as the lower level. (Changes are this may not in realtime).

If you logged out of the velocity app/ delete the app, and start from scratch .. Again I expect it will show your new status.

thanks, did that. still says gold.
I've sent Virgin an email.
I've also noticed that all the emails I'm getting from Velocity still have me as Gold also.
it's very confusing, will be interesting to see what they say when I get a reply.
